I’ve had a few people write in lately.
These fine upstanding individuals are worried that with all the virtual schooling they’ve been missing out on…
• procedures
• physical exam -suturing
• casting and splinting.
I think that makes a lot of sense. I can see how you’d be worried or feel unprepared. As a student preceptor for the past 10 years, I’ve got some insight here.
What are my expectations when a new student comes on board with me?
What do students need to do to pass, do well, and excel? “Excel” means I’m actively looking for a job for these people, and that’s happened for about 20% of the students that pass through my hospital.
We’ve also had a few who were removed from our site due to not meeting our standards.
I decided the best way for me to share this with you is through a group coaching call.
That call will be held on 5/19. If you register and can’t be on the live call, there will be a recording made available to you inside of the PAER app.
