I get questions like these more often than I care to, so I thought you all should know my answer:
“It’s December and I’m in my last year to take the PANRE. What happens if I fail? “
“Hey Brian, I just signed up for my PANCE. What happens if I fail? I’ve got job lined up and I don’t know what I’d do.”
I refuse to answer those questions or any like them, and there’s a good reason why. Marcus Aurelius said it much better than I can:
“Your mind will take on the character of your most frequent thoughts: souls are dyed by thoughts.”
Did you get that?
‘Souls are dyed by thoughts’
Don’t think about failure. Don’t think and worry about what happens IF you fail. Put all of your energy into passing. You will have plenty of time to look into those things IF you fail.
If you spend time thinking about failing and how you’d handle it, you introduce that option into your brain. I don’t even want that option in my head as I’m preparing. There is only one option, and that’s passing.
It makes zero sense to devote anytime whatsoever to that issue BEFORE your exam.
What you need to be doing is spending your time building confidence, knowledge, and test-taking skills.
Thankfully, you’ve come to the right place. You’ve got The Final Step to help you work on medical knowledge and confidence. Maximize Your Time and Efficiency will help you do it all faster. Learning, studying, and boosting confidence. MYTE is a short course I developed to help PA students get through school more easily and better.
I want to stop the struggle and the overwhelm. Let me help you.
