Not sure how the partying is going to be with the coronavirus lurking about, but if you need assistance concentrating whether others are reviling or not, I’ve got two tools for you.
#1 is a pair of headphones. I used to just use earplugs (hmm, come to think of it, that was when I still had a flip phone). Now headphones are essential. I always carry two pairs with me. The first is a six-dollar pair of Panasonic earbuds that fit me really well. I buy about four of these at a time and hide them all over so that I’m never without a set. But if you can swing it, I can’t say enough good things about the new apple AirPods.
I had zero interest in the original AirPods. The regular apple headphones fall out of my ears while I’m sitting at my desk, let alone exercising. I also have a set of the Bose noise-canceling headphones, and now noise-canceling is no longer optional. It’s like getting a car with heated seats; there’s no going back. But when the new AirPods announced noise-cancelling, I was all in. I’m telling you if I lost mine, I’d go out TODAY and get a new pair. Now what goes through those headphones into your ears?
#2. Focus@Will – I use this app every single day. Every day. This weekend I was at the coffee shop doing work, and I had my coffee shop soundtrack running. It’s perfect. It masks all the voices around you and lets you slip into a focus that’s hard to describe. When I’m plugged in, I get twice the amount of work done.
You can search YouTube or wherever for studying music, but I promise you, it isn’t the same. I like the “coffee shop” and “alpha chill” best. I just disappear into it. It’s fantastic. I think I’m up to eight years of using them. I can’t remember.
Anyway. Check out their service here. It’s better than coffee. I promise.
