Like many others during this time, I’ve been home with my lovely family. Except they’re not quite as lovely as you might think. The pictures I took of my two kiddos fishing last Saturday tells a different story than the tangled lines and bobbers left in trees would have told.
It was peaceful and pleasant, for about ten out of the sixty minutes we were at the lake.
Working from home with everyone here is about the same. Sometimes great and sometimes….
The best thing I’ve found to escape and get work done is Focus@will. I don’t know what black magic they use, but I pop my headphones in, click the app, and disappear. The little built-in timer lets me set it for 45 minutes and I’m gone until the sweet chime ends the session.
I don’t hear feet dashing up and down the stairs. I don’t hear crayons crashing against the walls. I just get my work done. The Uptempo channel is getting me through this particular session, but the Coffee Shop Sounds is best for drowning out background voices. I don’t know why it’s so much better than YouTube soundtracks or anything else, but it is.
Here’s the link to check out some of the science they use and get yourself a free trial and see if you don’t feel a difference.
That’s an affiliate link which means PAER does receive a few copper schillings if you decide to sign up:
