Every second counts the entire game, the whole thing, not just the beginning, not just the end, the whole thing.
Last night the Eagles won in amazing fashion. I mentioned on Friday that you might be watching history if you watch the game this weekend, and I’m pretty sure that one will go down in the books.
What’s more is that the story continues.
But here’s the lesson. Every second counts. Every tick of that clock counts. The Eagles were going to lose, but in the final seconds the football clanged off of the goal post, and the Birds were victorious.
The last few minutes are so important, and it’s so hard to keep working and stay focused. You’re tired, you’ve had enough. You’ve been working for weeks or months, and you want to put your head down and stop.
The questions become a blur, and you can’t keep reading, let alone choosing. The deciding is exhausting. You can’t watch the clock you have to press through and keep working, but it’s so hard. That last 20 minutes of my exam was excruciating, but those points count just as much as any other points.
There are tools and techniques you can use to keep up your energy during that last few minutes. I’ll be covering them in more detail in the February edition of Physician Assistant Exam Scholars, but probably the biggest one is to know you key terms like the back of your hand. Know them so well that you don’t have to think when you see them. You just KNOW it.
Having those made it so much easier. I wouldn’t have passed without them. Make exam day easier. Get The Final Step and know your key terms.
This came in just before I finished this, and I thought you might like to see it.
Hey Brian,
Just wanted to say thanks again for The Final Step. It helped me with my PANCE in 2013, and here I am ready for the PANRE this year.
I do read some of your emails, and it’s been fun to get to know your family:) and be reminded of ‘how to study more efficiently.’
I have shared my book and know of others who have purchased it. It has been by my side off and on for almost 6 years!
Happy New Year!
Maggie
