When was the last time you read for five hours straight?
Have you ever done it?
How about half that? Have you read for 2.5 hours in a row?
It’s a lot. It’s wearing. It’s a mental slog and can literally lead to eye strain. It isn’t easy.
You have to train your eyes and your brain to able to handle the marathon that is the PANCE. It’s no secret what’s coming. Even if you were reading Archie comics, five hours would be a killer, let alone PANCE questions AND having to answer them. That’s nuts.
Here’s what I recommend. Do some training. Before bed every single night, read a novel for 10-15 minutes. Something easy to put yourself to sleep.
Reading before bed will kill two birds with one stone.
First, it’ll clear you head and let you fall asleep. You won’t wake up in the middle of the night with your brain still studying in a loop if you’ve read something for fun before bed.
Second, it will build up your stamina for reading. You’re going to need it.
Allow me to make a recommendation. You can get the original Bram Stokers Dracula on kindle for free. It’s a great book, and it isn’t really scary at all.
I’m open to your recommendations. What’s relatively easy, but good for before-bed reading?
I was reading The Last Kingdom series for a while, and they were perfect. Just boring enough to help me fall asleep. Until I got so bored, I lost track of which book I was in.
Oh speaking of things to help you pass your PANCE, you might also consider picking up a copy of The Final Step. It isn’t free, but it will make a big dent in your test scores.
Ok that’s enough for today. You’ve got a lot to do.
