To get lucky you have to be prepared to get lucky. You have to have your eyes open. You have to know what you’re looking for. Luck doesn’t happen to people sitting on the couch.
What’s the famous line from a pro golfer? (Can’t remember his name at the moment)
“The more I practice the luckier I get.”
That is dead on. Luck happens but you have to see it. In this case what I mean is being prepared. There is a constant gnashing of teeth over not having enough time to get it done. Not enough time, no room.
But what happens when class cancels? What happens when a surgery you were supposed to be in on cancels due to the paten having a fever? Do you spend that time playing candy crush or boom beach?
It’s easy to slip into those escapes in your free time. Why? Becuase they are designed to be easy. They are designed to be fun and simple. You’re more than fun and simple. You’re working toward a goal. You’re moving forward.
Here’s how you escape that trap. HAVE A PLAN. Know where you’re heading. If you know what comes next when you get a minute or 30 of “free” time you can use it to push your goals forward. Everyone else will say, “lets go get some coffee.” And you’ll say “Nope, I’m on a mission and I know whats’ next to get me where I want to go.”
Since where you want to go is passing PA school, the PANCE or the PANRE let me help you along the way. Physician Assistant Exam Scholars is a group I’ve put together to help students and PAs with the whole picture. Not just the content, but EVERYTHING. It’s a place where we can dive a little deeper in to some of the concepts and you and I together can move you light years down the path you’re on.
The programs main component is a monthly newsletter that addresses one central idea and lets us hone and get to work.
