Removing anxiety

I’ve gotten myself twisted around so I’m not sure where this one came from, but it’s a good one and I wanted to share it with you.

I’m reading Tim Ferriss’s “Tools of Titans” in the morning and listening to “Think Like a Monk” in the car. It’s definitely from one of those two places. I recommend getting a copy of either one or both.

Anyway, here’s the exercise to help banish anxiety from your life:

At some point throughout the day, wish someone you see happiness.

That’s it. You don’t have to know them. You don’t have to do anything. You don’t have to tell them. Just wish it. That’s all.

Go ahead try it. Do it now. If no one’s around, close your eyes and think of someone. It’s probably better if you can see them, but in the end it really doesn’t matter. Just breathe once or twice, picture them, and wish them a happy day.

Wishing someone else happiness brings you happiness and calm. It’s hard to stay mad and anxious when you’re wishing happiness for someone else.

Now here comes the second part: Do it again.

Wish two people happiness every day, and we might just banish your anxiety for good.

Another way to clear out anxiety is by being prepared. When you know you’ve covered enough information, you feel a whole lot better walking into an exam. That tension is gone.

Join the Physician Assistant Exam Scholars Program for the April issue and you’ll get a whole new feeling of prepared. I’ve got two ways of doing this:

First, I’ve got three questions I have playing on repeat in my head as new information comes in during a lecture that help me to discard about 25% of the martial right way. Second, as I’m going over the rest later, I use a different system for determining what’s most likely to be on the exam. It’s crazy, but you’ll be able to see what’s coming a mile away. And just imagine how relaxed you’ll be when, after practicing for a few exams, you start to know what questions will be on there.

Instead of being nervous, you’ll be excited to show what you know. Yes, you. I’m telling you we can do this. Let’s go.

The deadline to join and still get the April issue is Tuesday, so get on it this time around.
