TAKE THE DAY OFF!
I don’t think I can be any clearer than that. Do not use it as a catch-up day. Do not use it study a little extra. You’ve been sleeping at your desk, ignoring the calls from your mother, and altogether ignoring the outside world.
Your brain needs a rest. Runners don’t run every day. Weightlifters don’t lift every day. Read this again: Your. brain. needs. a. rest.
Here are some Physician Assistant Exam Review sanctioned Thanksgiving Day activities:
- Sleeping
- Eating
- Drinking
- Going for a run
- Napping
- Talking with family (I’d recommend only the ones that you like being around and don’t get you stressed out)
- Talking with friends (same rule as above)
- Staring at a fireplace
- Watching football
- Dessert
- Order your copy of the Physician Assistant Exam Scholar’s Newsletter
That’s pretty much the list. No studying, no practicing, no reading unless it’s for pleasure.
Take the day for yourself, and your family and friends. I’m sure they miss you. You will do much better when you get back to work if you take the day off.
I’m giving you permission. Plan for the day off.
You know what, though? Don’t wait until Thanksgiving day to order your issue of PAES. You might just forget between all that pie and alcohol and napping.
