NO podcast today

Today is the day a podcast is scheduled to go out, but it isn’t happening. Not today.

I already recorded it and everything. It just needs to be edited and put up, but it still isn’t happening today. Today I’m studying. I made my big announcement yesterday. I’m taking my PANRE on MONDAY! A short 10 days after deciding to take it.

I’m trying to squeeze in a quick attempt in 2018. I have until 2019, but man would it be nice to have this thing behind me. Then I could really focus on what’s next for PAER, and I’ve got some big things planned for 2019. I’ll get to that soon, but first I want to talk about what’s allowing me to take my test with just 10 days of prep. OH, and those aren’t full days. I’m working full time, except Friday. I did take Friday off. But other than that I’m working and coaching baseball tonight and basketball tomorrow night. So I say 10 days, but it’s not even that much.

How am I going to pull off this feat? Is it because I remember everything I cover on the podcast? Not a chance, take look back through the timeline. I haven’t included all the much in season 2 and look at when I started season 2. Some things will be easier because of the show and because of my day to day job for sure, but that isn’t going to make enough difference.

The big game changer is using test-taking skills to study. I’m working on a specific theory of how to take tests and then I’m working backward from there to study. I may not get a perfect score, but I’m pretty confident I can pull of a passing grade using this technique. In the December issue of PAES, I cover a big chunk of how I take tests. I break down specific types of questions for you. I go through my strategy and my self-talk as I move through an exam.

Then, if all goes according to plan, in the January issue, I’ll cover how I turn that test-taking strategy into a studying strategy that saved me 2.5 months of work. I’ll see you posted on that one.

Come on in and look over my shoulder as I get ready. Better hurry though. The December issue goes to print on Friday.
