Move into the test maker’s brain

One of my favorite ways to study is to write test questions. This helps solidify information like NOTHING else. It gets you inside the head of the test creators.

Once you start writing questions, you begin to see how you need to create a path to get the reader to the right answer. It isn’t about tricking anyone. It’s actually pretty hard to leave enough breadcrumbs to get them there even if you really want to.

Take a few minutes and give it a shot.

Here are the topics for today. It doesn’t matter if these are the answers or part of the vignette. Let’s see what you’ve got.

• Dilated cardiomyopathy

• Cholecystitis

Email them back to me when you’re done.

If you’re looking for ideas and think “Ugh I can’t do this,” take a peek inside The Final Step for ways to the breadcrumbs. Then just string them out.

P.S. Speaking of breadcrumbs and clues, I’ve got something coming in a few days that may solve a lot of you biggest problems. Stay tuned.
