Lessons from the Bachelor

I was watching the bachelor with my wife the other night, and I couldn’t help but catch on to a running theme. They kept talking about the girls who had the most confidence and how they could put it on display.

Interesting.

I’ve been listening a bit to Coffee with Scott Adams and he talks in the show (and in his book, Loser Think) about how to use your ego as tool. He talks about how you can either dial it up or dial it back depending on the circumstance. Essentially how you can display your confidence more strongly or hang back a bit, depending on what the situation dictates. He talks about how your ego isn’t you, it’s a tool you have.

Interesting.

Confidence, or ego, whatever you want to call it – is an extremely important tool. Maybe the most important tool. I don’t know a single surgeon that doesn’t think he is the BEST at what he does. Can they all be the best? Nope, but they NEED to think it. If they don’t, oh boy… that’s a problem. I’m not saying they shouldn’t reflect on reality. I’m not saying they shouldn’t improve. I am saying they need to believe in themselves above anything else.

You need to cultivate that attitude. You need to fight to be THE BEST test-taker, not fighting to be the worst test-taker.

Dial up that ego. Dial up that confidence. Go in there and crush it. It may sound insane but try it. It works. Not every time, but as a system over time, without question.

I’m going to show you how to build up your confidence for test day in no time, and then we’re going to cover some very specific things you can do on test days to boost those scores.
