I got this email last week and thought you’d love to see it. Mostly, I want you to see that you’re not alone. Everyone is struggling, but you’ll make it.

Hello, my name is Larry and I wanted to say thank you for all you do in helping PA students. Your podcasts especially was an instrumental part of my studying. I became a PA student, the same year becoming a father, a husband and a new home owner. Didn’t plan it that way, but I decided to play the cards I was dealt and took it all as a blessing. The school curriculum had its ups and downs, didactic year made sure of that. However, balancing the family life in one state, jumping for one Air BnB to the other during clinicals was a whole other beast of an expensive adventure. I could write a book on my experiences during clinicals, from sleeping on a princess bed due to false advertisement (I’m 6.5ft), to renting a room a house full of international travelers from china having an orgy upstairs while studying for my OBGYN exam.
Unfortunately, I failed my boards multiple times, and I found out about your podcast through research. Just what I needed, the questions, the way you answered them, and the ability to simplify and remove distractors most importantly was key. I have a horrible test taking ability, sub par study techniques and a master at second guessing myself. I knew the material which was why I couldn’t understand why I failed. I needed to learn how to remove the distractors, which then made your book a powerful tool. I’m board certified now, interviewing for jobs and can’t thank you enough.
