Is anyone hiring?

People have been reaching out to me in droves with issues surrounding employment.

“No one is getting back to me, and I’m worried about getting a job.”

“I had an interview that went great, but I haven’t heard back from them. What should I do?”

“How am I supposed to get a job now. No one is hiring.”

And the list goes on and on.

I know people are worried and I get that a job is a big deal, but I promise you people are hiring. How can I make that bold statement? I know three PA jobs that are open right now. I also spoke with a surgeon the other day who said,

“There are lots of PAs. The hard part is finding a good one.”

Hmmm. We’ll get back to that in a minute.

Covid has made things a bit weird for sure, but that doesn’t change a thing. Not for me. Why not? Because I’m not a bottom of the barrel candidate. Sorry, if that sounds a bit arrogant, but it’s true. And do you know what else? Neither are you. You’re an outstanding candidate. You’re A GOOD ONE!

But you may not be presenting yourself in the best possible light. You might be rockstar, but I’m not sure you’re bringing it, both in the application and in the interview.

Not to mention, the application process you’re using might be… well, let’s just say not the best way to do it. It may be the “normal way,” but that doesn’t make it the best way. (There are multiple ways to handle this, and you should be using at least three.)

I’ve decided to start 2022 with this extremely important topic. If you’re graduating this year, listen up. On Thursday, I’m going to be once again offering The Dream Job Package.

The bulk of this package is the content contained in three past issues of the Physician Assistant Exam Scholars Newsletter. In Issue #04, I covered a very specific and surprisingly powerful method for performing a job search, and then a three-step process for squeezing yourself in for an interview (even if they aren’t hiring. If it’s your dream job, you don’t care if they’re hiring. You want in! I’ll explain more later).

Just after that in Issue #05 of PAES we covered ace-ing your interview. The July issue gets the door open, and the August issue gets you the offer you’re looking for and seals the deal. They go great hand in hand.

Remember your resume’s job is to get you to the interview. It’s the interview’s job to get you the offer.

Then more recently in Issue #32 I took on the topic, “how to get a job with no experience right out of school,” and I blew up the myth that experience matters. I’m telling you it doesn’t, no matter how you feel about it.

There’s a lot more inside as well. If you’re graduating in 2022, this is an excellent opportunity for you to get way out in front when it comes to landing where you WANT to be, not just where you’ll get a paycheck.

(I just had a call with someone quitting a job after the first few months because she took the first available paycheck. Despite a few “red flags,” she took the job and now is scrambling to get out of there.)

This package will be available this weekend only. That is Sunday night at midnight EST.
