Meds are hard.
Makes me think of that Barbie doll they unceremoniously pulled off the shelves because she said, “Math is hard.”
Because meds are hard. I struggle with them, a lot. The names are unfamiliar and difficult to remember. The side effect profiles all look the same.
If you’ve listened to a single episode of the PAER podcast, then you know that I have a heck of a time pronouncing medication names – and when you can’t say a name, how on earth are you going to remember it? You’re not.
So, I have a few options. Spend more time on them and learn them, or don’t.
That’s kinda the way I see it.
A long time ago, I made the decision to give it up. Case in point, my last PANRE I did not spend a single second on medications that I didn’t already know, and I passed with flying colors. How is that possible you might ask? (And you would be right to ask it)
I’m going to show you in the in the April Issue of the Physician Assistant Exam Scholars newsletter. I do things a bit different because I don’t like to feel anxious or work until 2 AM. The great part is that what I do is so easy to understand. It’ll take a bit to make it habit, but you’ll be off to the races on day one.
