At 8 years old, Colin was playing basketball on a team for the first time.
Derek was 5 years old at the time. A very small 5 years old.
At dinner after one of Colin’s games, Derek says, “Colin, I think I should play on your team. I’m pretty good. I think I can help you guys.”
WHAT?!?
He wasn’t boastful or bragging. He was straight CONFIDENCE.
The funny part was that he was right.
With that confidence and nothing else, he is better than 1/2 the kids in the 8-year-old league.
He is always in attack mode. It is always his ball. It doesn’t matter how big or how much better the other player is, Derek is in attack mode drawing and building his confidence from the attack.
We spend too much time on our heels. We spend too much time timid and nervous. Don’t walk into the exam room with your head low and shoulders slumped. Walk-in with your head up and ready to attack. Build confidence along the way as you attack each question.
YOU can build that kind of confidence and even have it build during an exam.
How you ask?
One way is knowing your key terms cold. Knowing them so well that when you see them on the test, you get excited. When you see the hint of a key term, it’s like blood in the water during shark week, you smile and attack.
The Final Step was designed exactly for that purpose. It was designed to raise your confidence while you’re taking an exam as you see term after term that you know. I’ve had hundreds of people email me saying that is exactly how they felt when they saw my questions or heard my voice during their exam.
