Freedom = no whining

Today is the 4th of July. Independence Day. This may be my favorite holiday. It is the day the United States declared its independence from England. Too many of us today rely on others to give us things. We “deserve” stuff.

That test should be curved because….

I can’t believe we have to take the PANRE….

The stupid residents won’t let me….

Blah blah blah blah blah

Today is a great day to be thankful for all we have. Even more so than Thanksgiving. Thankful for the freedom to make our own decisions and our own choices. To make our own way – win or lose. To be able to dream BIG. To set you sights high!

If we are waiting for someone to give us things, then all we are is complainers. We have the freedom to go and get it. One of my favorite quotes along this line comes from Carlos Castaneda:

“The basic difference between an ordinary man and a warrior is that a warrior takes everything as a challenge, while an ordinary man takes everything as a blessing or a curse.”

Are you a victim? Do you give up all of your power and control in favor of being able to whine?

With that quote in my head, I walked into my office manager’s office and landed myself a raise worth a few thousand dollars. I decided to stop complaining to my co-workers about the low pay and do something.

Amazing what happens when you take action and take control.

Give it a try!
