A good buddy of mine owns a place just south of West Palm Beach, Florida. This past weekend a couple of us flew down for a long weekend. We had a blast. We played in a golf tournament on the number-one rated executive course in the country. When I say a tournament, I just mean they had an event we participated in. I don’t mean that I play golf well. We fished, we ate, and we fished some more. It was a total blast, and my tight shoulders and fuzzy brain needed the rest.
One of the cool things about being a PA and not a PA student is that you can take the weekends off. You have a little time, a little more space.
It wears on you when you’re always on, when you’re always looking for a way to get it all done. There are two things to take note of here.
One is that you can’t get it all done.
“The poor will always be with you.” This line of all lines in the Bible sticks with me. My humble interpretation of that line is that you’re fighting a losing battle. You have to keep fighting the battle, indeed, but, if you’re not careful, the battle will consume you and then you won’t be able to continue the fight.
Step one is realizing you can’t learn it all. You can’t. I’m sorry, I don’t care how smart or dedicated you are. It can’t be done. You need a better plan.
Now, here’s the second thing: You can learn enough, and you can do it faster.
Of course, then you have to define “enough.” For me, “enough” was a passing grade. Now, if you’re only learning “enough” and you’re doing it in a better, faster way, then you can salvage time out of your busy day.
I can teach you, but you have to promise not to let faster turn into more. If you learn to retain more with less work, I don’t want you taking that and cramming even more into that brain of yours. I want you to use your “extra time” to rest, to visit with friends, to laugh, and to refresh your mind.
Otherwise, you might as well take turns helping Sisyphus push that boulder up the hill. Anyone can busy.
Sometimes we conflate being busy with getting work done. If I’m home working on PAER and spend 70% of the time working on Clash of Clans, I feel way behind and like I have no time.
If I sit down and kill it for 2 hours, I feel like the most powerful man on the planet. I want you to stop being busy and get your work done.
So, here’s what I did. I put together PA Week package that will break you out of the cycle of being busy.
I took everything I could and put it into this package, and then I dropped the price on the whole thing by 60%.You see, I want you to crush it.I want you to absolutely kill it, and then I want to you to go and hang out with friends and family.
The PA Week package will be available for sale starting on Saturday, but you can kick the tires at the link below while you wait.
