Jim Rhon was one the best. Sadly he passed away a few years ago. I recommend getting your hands on anything that he produced. But the point of today is this one gem from Mr. Rohn.
“Don’t wish it were easier. Wish you were better.”
You may have heard philosophers say that the quality of your life is dictated by the quality of your questions. Here Mr. Rohn demonstrates that principle with his exquisite eloquence.
Wishing it were easier doesn’t take you anywhere. It leaves you right where you are, and what fun is that? I’m not 100% sure about this one, but I’ve been using a philosophy of success for a while now that dictates: success is growing, learning, and improving. Success is being better than you were yesterday.
That would preclude winning the lottery – I know. I would consider that good fortune, but it doesn’t fit into my philosophy of success. Winning the lottery doesn’t make ME better (there’s a good amount of evidence to suggest it may even make me worse)
Rather than wishing it were easier, wish that you could grow and expand enough to be up the challenge. Yes, you right now might not be, but that’s not the question. The question is, how can you get there? How can you get better?
Funny you should ask because I’ve got just the thing. For PA week this year, I’m putting the first 10 issues of The Physician Assistant Exam Scholars newsletter on sale. (Not meaning they are cheap. They aren’t. Meaning that they are available.)
In these newsletters, you will learn how to grow and get better. What would it be worth to you to grow into a better test-taker? What would it be worth to be able to transform yourself into someone who is looking forward to exam day? (It’s possible, I’m always excited to get started.) What would it be worth to you to not shake and sweat on your way into a test, to feel confident as you sit down to take an exam, or even better sit for an interview?
It’s all there. I took a year to put it together. I sat and wrote and rewrote and edited and re-edited just to be sure it was exactly what I wanted it to be, and it’s available to you, but only until Saturday night.
I can’t wait for you to dive into this package and start applying the low hanging fruit. Your scores and confidence will go up, beginning with issue number 1.
