This stupendous email came in over the past few days. I had to share it with you. Not to mention it’s a great prequel to “The Physician Assistant Student’s Guide to Money: From Broke to Debt Free and Beyond” where I hand the nuts and bolts of how to pull off what Daniel is talking about.
Read away.

Brian,
I really like these success emails about paying off student debt! I’m out six years from PA school and have paid off all my student loans (grad and undergrad) and two cars totaling about $150k. Most done in the last 4 years. As others have written, this takes serious discipline and sacrifice, plus some extra shifts. We refinanced through Sofi and got my interest rate down (on my PA school loans) and just attacked the crap out of our debts. You have to hate it. Hate paying interest to someone else!
Live on a budget, plan less expensive vacations, live well within your means, and get angry at the debt. It will snowball, and life is just better once that burden is gone.
Finally, get your raises! Every PA is worth more than they know to their practice. Every one of us should be sitting down with our attending physician(s), HR, and/or management annually, if not more depending on our situation. Know your numbers, understand how your company reports those numbers to you and at least get quarterly reports. If you are killing it, seeing 120 a week plus surgery, doing a lot of procedures, taking call, etc you deserve to be paid more! Don’t be afraid to ask.

Daniel gives solid advice. The kind of thing I didn’t listen to one bit when I graduated. I got myself into quite a mess (I tell the whole story in the book) and almost sunk the ship. I’ve found a few sneaky ways to speed up the process, get your head in the right place (if you don’t know where you’re going none of it matters), and wrestle control of your life back from those wicked banksters.
This book is about the work. I’ll give you the tools, but if they sit on the shelf and collect dust, then it won’t help a bit. (I’m picturing a treadmill draped with laundry). Like Daniel said, “You have to HATE it.” If you do, then this book will knock YEARS of your indentured servitude.
The book and the special bonuses are available this weekend. Scoop them up while you can. You have a few more hours to choose between growth or mediocrity.
