There are no contradictions. None. At least, not out in the real world. Contradictions only exist in your head.
My oldest refuses to learn this, and it’s going to be difficult for him. He’ll be playing a video game and yell at the screen “I pushed the button. I did, I did, I swear I did,” as his character dies on the screen.
A pure contradiction. He did everything right and yet, he died.
In reality, there are only a few possibilities here:
1) The game is not as responsive as it seems.
2) He did not hit the button at all or did not hit the button at the correct time.
The maddening, frustrating contradiction is in his head? It isn’t in the world.
The game was not working perfectly; he hit the correct button at the correct time and his character still died. That did not happen.
I hope you realize that this is one of the most important emails I’ve ever written. It is not me sharing a cute story about my kid. It’s a story about you and test-taking.
