AAPA salary numbers don’t matter

Everyone is dying to see the AAPA salary report. PAs are in the streets surrounding the building waiting for that report to come out. Newspaper boys around the country yell EXTRA, EXTRA on street corners letting everyone know that the salary report is ready.

Here’s the inside scoop: Those numbers don’t matter. Not even a little bit. Not until you have a job offer.

Don’t count your chickens before they hatch. Don’t sit there and count your imaginary piles of cash before you start the interview process.

The numbers are so enticing. They daydreams are luxurious, especially when you’ve been hemorrhaging money for years. But, before you can dive into and swim around in your pool filled with gold coins, ala Scrooge McDuck, you have to get a JOB.

Do you have a plan for finding a job? The terrible answers look like this.

“Uh, no.”

What kind of job do you think you’re going to find with that plan?

The good answers look like this.

“I’ll go on the job boards and find something.”

That plan is about 1% better but…

Wouldn’t you rather find the job of your dreams and have docs BEGGING you to come work for them? Do you think you’ll get that kind of response from them by adding your resumé to the stack?

Nope.

Finding a job may be the most important, most valuable thing you ever do.

You spent 3 years in school to get to a point where you finally practice medicine, and now you’re not even going to put 15 minutes into thinking through the process? You put years into getting here and you’ll put hours into looking for a job, but not even minutes into planning?

For shame.

How about I make it easier for you? I’ve got it all laid out and ready to go in the The PA Dream Job Package – Find and Land Your Dream Job Before The Ink Dries On Your Diploma.

Click that link and make sure you career starts off on the right path.
