Someone emailed me not too long ago, (somehow I’ve lost the email in the masses already) asking about the Rutgers Review course.
This lovely individual who will remain nameless (mostly because I can’t find the email) mentioned that she already had several other review courses. I think Hippo was one, but there were at least 3 or 4 of them.
In my humble opinion, no, she should NOT get the Rutgers course.
The Rutgers review course is top notch. I went to school there and personally know the faculty who give the course. I went to the live class, AND I’ve used the online course. I will probably use the online course for my next recert. All of that said… enough is enough.
My philosophy is that you should have one review “book” from each category.
One review course; I recommend the Rutgers course, but I’m sure the others are good too.
One review book; I like the O’Connell book, but I’ve heard the Davis book is excellent from enough people to believe in it.
One question book or question bank with full-length test questions; Exam Master or Lange or something.
And, of course, The Final Step for short, quick, powerful review.
There’s an old Chinese proverb (that is probably neither old nor Chinese) that goes something like this: “A man with two watches never knows what time it is.”
The point is, if the watches are off by a little from each other, you question them. In the end, either one would do, but because you have two, you doubt and question. It isn’t helpful.
One review course is plenty. Unless you hate the presenters and hate the format, then maybe get something else, but 99 times out of 100, it’s a mistake.
I teamed up with the nice people who produce the Rutgers course, and they made it so that I can get you 15% off this weekend. Use the code PAER15 at checkout and you’ll see the price drop right in your cart.
In addition to that, you’ll get two sweet sweet bonuses from yours truly (with just one really easy extra step):
Bonus #1 – Secrets of the Test
I took my PANRE on a Friday morning. The kids were at school, and my wife and I were planning on going out to a really nice lunch to celebrate. I got back home at 11:45 AM and instead of heading straight out to the fancy lunch, I asked my wife to give me 15 minutes. I ran down to my office, switched on the camera, and spilled my guts.
If you’re going to be taking the PANCE or the PANRE, you MUST get Secrets of the Test
Bonus #2 – Issue No 17 of the Physician Assistant Exam Scholars Newsletter
Here’s what you’ll get when you read Issue No 17:
* A way to dissect incredibly difficult information and make it as simple as falling off a log
* The blueprint for how I’ve had fantastic success studying and taking exams with minimal effort so that you can do the same (it isn’t that hard)
* An absolute LOVE for cardiology questions. You’ll be hoping and praying to see them on your exam. The good news is that cardiology questions make up the majority of the test and you’re going to ace those.
* The real reason everyone makes the work so challenging to teach and learn, and how you can make it easy. But you have to be willing to set your ego aside.
* The problem with every hitting, pitching, and golf coach I’ve ever met (except one) and why their methods will ruin you.
* The two things you need to know to diagnose a murmur on an exam. Yes, it’s that simple. For the life of me, I don’t understand why they don’t tell you.
* A trick the test that writers use to fool you on cardiology questions.
* The exact system I use to answer exam questions.

Oh, and to get the bonuses, you’ve gotta email the receipt from Rutgers to me by Sunday at midnight. That’s how it’s done.
Good luck,
