When I used to coach little league, some of our kids would close their eyes and swing. A guy I used to coach with would say to the kids, “You can’t hope to it hit the ball. You have to watch the ball.”
Hope can be very powerful, but not in baseball. Not at the plate. You have to know you’re better than the pitcher and you have to have a plan to be better, an approach.
You know you’re better when you work harder and have a solid system that you’re using. I know that you work hard. You wouldn’t be here if you didn’t, but do you have a system? Or do you just walk into your exams hoping to pass? I know you work hard. We said that already, but that’s just a study plan. That isn’t a test-taking plan.
Do you have a test-taking plan? Do you have an approach to test questions?
If the answer is no, you’re leaving a lot of free points on the table. The October issue of Physician Assistant Exam Review is going to show you a few things to start grabbing those points that are laying all over the floor. All you have to do is start picking them up.
If you have a system that works for you, FANSTSTIC. Email me and let’s talk about it and compare notes. I’d love to hear all about it, but, if you don’t, consider thinking it through.
