Studying with music has been a game changer for me. I always used music to get my head clear – the louder the better to wipe out everything else. After all, stray thoughts can’t creep in if the music is super loud. I used a lot of Florence and the Machine, Nine Inch Nails, and Lana Del Rey when I I studied for my PANRE.
The problem, though, is the words. Anything with words is hard not to listen to.
I’m using two particular systems now and have been for long time. One is focus@will and the other is brain.fm. They are both great, so great in fact that I have lifetime subscriptions to both.
I always thought of it as something to help with studying, but Jennifer here wrote in to let me know how she is using one of these systems every day.

Thank you for your email about Focus @Will.I am a practicing PA who spends hours a day charting and some days just getting into a focused groove is tough. The minute I heard the choices available on the website, I KNEW this would be something that would help me focus and be more productive. So thank you for sharing!!

I can sit and read or write for an hour easy with the Cafe Focus playlist playing from focus@will. I don’t even notice the time going by, but the work is getting done.
