As you may know, there’s a PA student who helps me edit the PAES newsletter. She does an amazing job, and I couldn’t be more thankful for having her.
As she was editing the August issue, she came across this line, “The problem isn’t that you aren’t working hard. The problem is that you’re spending too much time in the wrong places.”
And wrote this in the margin, “I think about how in the first 6 weeks of anatomy, I’d spend hours upon hours perfecting my anatomy flash cards with color coding and diagrams.”
The August issue demonstrates why you’re overworked and not getting the grades you deserve, and the editor of PAES gives a great example of why she was falling behind. Perfect notes. It’s a trap that many of us have fallen into. And it’s only one of many possible traps we’ve set for ourselves.
What got you into PA school isn’t going to get you through PA school. You’re going to have to upgrade your skills. The August issue is all about upgrading your study skills. Get the August issue and let’s get started.
