Moving past your peers

Here’s the deal. We all start where we start.

Some of us are tall. Some of us have rich parents. Some of us are out of shape. Some of us are not as smart. Some of us can run really fast.

The comparison games is the losers’ game. You have what you have where you are right now. That’s all that matters. It doesn’t matter what Sally has or what Danny has. All that matters is what you have now and what you’d like to have in the future.

Beginning where you are is a powerful perspective.

Oh, don’t fret. I know, we humans are hard wired to play this losers’ game. I’m not going to leave with you only that thought. I’m going to show you how to get better.

You move past your peers by building skills. Not knowledge, but skills. Knowledge is helpful and very powerful, but skills win every time.

You can’t raise your IQ, but you can learn better study techniques.

You can’t grow an inch, but you can get a coach to help you with your jump shot.

You can’t stay up any later studying, but you can learn to manage your anxiety so that on test day what you do know shines through.

Skills. Skills. Skills.

You need a little natural talent from your parents of course, but skills + talent will beat just talent every time.

That’s why I created The Physician Assistant Exam Scholars Newsletter. The idea is to cover a set of skills each and every month that will compound over time to move you up and up and up.

The September issue covers test anxiety. Inside its pages you’ll learn techniques you’ve never seen anywhere else. I’ve got six simple things for you to that will have you breathing easy, even on the day of the PANCE.

Make sure you get your copy delivered to your door.
